frozen banana ninja creami nice cream recipe

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe bananas, peeled, sliced, and frozen (very ripe works best)
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup milk (dairy, almond, oat, or coconut), as needed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, optional
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1-2 tablespoons nut butter (optional, for extra creaminess)

Optional mix-ins:

  • Peanut butter swirls
  • Chocolate chips
  • Chopped walnuts
  • Cacao nibs
  • Coconut flakes
  • Fresh berries
  • Granola clusters
  • Cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Freeze bananas properly.
Peel ripe bananas, slice into 1/2-inch coins, and freeze flat on parchment-lined tray for 2-4 hours until solid. Frozen coins blend much easier than whole frozen bananas.
  2. Blend the base.
Add frozen banana slices, vanilla extract, salt, and 1/4 cup milk to blender or food processor. Blend until smooth, scraping down sides as needed. Add milk 1 tablespoon at a time only if necessary—nice cream should stay thick.
  3. Perfect consistency.
Mixture should be thick like soft serve, not runny like a smoothie. If too thick to blend, add 1 tablespoon more milk. If too thin, add a few more frozen banana pieces.
  4. Transfer to pint.
Pour/spoon banana mixture into Ninja Creami pint container. Stay well below MAX FILL line (nice cream expands significantly). Secure lid tightly.
  5. Freeze solid.
Freeze upright for 24 hours minimum on level surface. Bananas’ natural sugars create softer freeze but need full time for perfect Creami results.
  6. First spin.
Remove pint from freezer, assemble in Ninja Creami outer bowl. Process on Sorbet setting (perfect for fruit/nice cream bases) or Lite Ice Cream.
  7. Texture check.
Banana bases spin very creamy first time but may look slightly powdery. Spoon center—if crumbly, proceed to re-spin.
  8. Re-spin magic.
Add 1 tablespoon milk to center, run Re-spin cycle. Usually needs just 1 cycle. Check texture before mix-ins.
  9. Mix-ins (optional).
Create deep center well, add 2 tablespoons mix-ins (peanut butter + chocolate chips = PB&J bliss!), run Mix-ins cycle once.
  10. Serve immediately.
Perfect soft-serve texture right away, or freeze 30 minutes for scoopable consistency. Garnish with nuts or coconut.

Recipe Tips

  • Riper bananas = sweeter creamier: Brown spots = natural sugar jackpot
  • Sorbet setting shines: Fruit-forward bases love this cycle
  • Nut butter bonus: Tablespoon peanut/almond butter = richer texture
  • No blender? Food processor works great for frozen bananas
  • Vegan perfection: Plant milk + maple syrup = dairy-free dream
